Terms of Service
1. Who we are; what Chore Army is and is not.
Chore Army is a technology platform operated by [ENTITY NAME], a Texas [series of a] limited liability company ("Chore Army," "we"). The platform allows verified households in a neighborhood ("Households") to connect with families in the same neighborhood whose teenage children offer help with household tasks ("Families," and each teen, a "Teen"). Chore Army is a venue. We do not employ Teens, do not supervise or control their work, do not set their working hours, are not a party to any arrangement between a Household and a Family, and do not guarantee the quality, safety, legality, or completion of any task. Any arrangement formed through the platform is directly between the Household and the Family. Teens participate only under a parent or legal guardian's account and with that parent's consent and supervision responsibility as set out in the Family & Teen Participation Agreement.
2. Accounts; verification; eligibility.
(a) Adults 18+ may hold accounts. Teens do not hold accounts; they access a limited view under their parent's account. Teens must be at least 13.
(b) Household verification confirms a residential address within a neighborhood boundary. Verification is a proxy for neighborhood membership only. We do not conduct background checks on Households, Families, or Teens, and verification is not an endorsement of any person's character or fitness.
(c) You are responsible for account activity and for the accuracy of information you provide.
3. How arrangements form.
Households describe tasks; the platform's automated dispatcher structures the request, quotes a price from published rates, and relays job-relevant information. A parent must approve each engagement before a Teen participates. Households and Teens' parents each accept or decline; no one is obligated to offer, accept, or continue any arrangement. Prices are administered by the platform as a convenience; the underlying agreement to perform and pay for a task is between the Household and the Family.
4. Payments.
Payments are processed by our third-party processor (Stripe). For paid engagements, the Household's payment is held and released to the Family upon completion approval, per the Refund, Cancellation & Dispute Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms. Chore Army's subscription fee is charged to Households for platform access. One hundred percent of task payments go to the Family; Chore Army takes no percentage of task payments.
5. Communication architecture.
The platform is designed so that Households and Teens do not communicate directly. All coordination flows through the dispatcher, and parents may review transcripts. You agree not to attempt to contact a Teen directly, solicit off-platform contact information from or about a Teen, or move platform-originated arrangements off-platform in a manner that circumvents these protections. Violation is grounds for immediate termination and, where appropriate, referral to authorities.
6. Conduct; prohibited uses.
You agree to: treat all participants respectfully; provide a reasonably safe environment for any task on your premises; not request tasks that are unlawful, hazardous beyond the platform's published service scope, or inappropriate for a minor; not misrepresent your identity or address; not use the platform to harass, exploit, or endanger anyone. The platform's service catalog and safety flags (age minimums, parent-supervision requirements, prohibited task types) are part of these Terms; Households may not request, and Families may not accept, out-of-scope tasks through the platform.
7. Assumption of risk; disclaimers.
Physical work involves inherent risks. Your use of the platform is subject to the Assumption of Risk & Release you sign at first booking. THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTY REGARDING THE CONDUCT, QUALITY, OR SAFETY OF ANY PARTICIPANT OR TASK.
8. Limitation of liability.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CHORE ARMY AND ITS MEMBERS, MANAGERS, OFFICERS, AND VOLUNTEERS (INCLUDING NEIGHBORHOOD CAPTAINS) WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THE ACTS OR OMISSIONS OF ANY HOUSEHOLD, FAMILY, OR TEEN, AND OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) AMOUNTS YOU PAID CHORE ARMY (EXCLUDING TASK PAYMENTS PASSED THROUGH TO FAMILIES) IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AND (B) ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS.
9. Indemnification.
You will defend and indemnify Chore Army and the persons listed in Section 8 against third-party claims arising from your breach of these Terms, your violation of law, your premises, your equipment, or the arrangement between you and another participant, except to the extent caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct.
10. Insurance.
Chore Army maintains its own insurance for its platform operations. Chore Army's insurance does not cover Households, Families, or Teens, or the performance of tasks. Households are encouraged to confirm their homeowner's policy covers occasional household help on their premises; Families are encouraged to confirm their own coverage.
11. Termination.
We may suspend or terminate accounts for breach, safety concerns, or captain/administrator judgment that participation endangers the community's trust. You may close your account at any time; subscription refund treatment per the Refund Policy.
12. Dispute resolution; governing law.
[Pending counsel: Texas law; venue; small-claims carve-out; whether individual arbitration and class waiver are appropriate in a consumer, minor-adjacent context.]
13. Changes.
We may update these Terms with notice; continued use after the effective date is acceptance. Material changes to safety architecture sections (5, 6) will be affirmatively re-accepted.
